What does temple filler do?

Temple dermal filler works to lift and restore the often-overlooked temple area, which may lose volume and definition with age. Hollowing around  the outer part of the eyes can skeletonise the orbit and give a tired and gaunt appearance. This treatment restores volume and enhances the appearance of both hollow and sunken temples. This, in turn, can improve the entire shape, structure, and contours of the face, and may aid in lifting the eyebrows to combat drooping, too, for a more youthful, rested, and balanced look.

What types of fillers are used?

The precise type of filler will be a bespoke choice depending on patient factors.

Top Temple Filler Benefits

  • Restored facial volume: filler treatment to the temple instantly adds volume to sunken or hollow temples, restoring definition and symmetry to these parts of the face.
  • Lifted brow area: by restoring volume to the temples, a temple filler brow lift may also have the added benefit of lifting the eyebrow area to treat drooping or sagging brows.
  • Non-surgical enhancement: other options exist to restore volume and definition to the face, but many involve surgical procedures. Having filler in a forehead treatment is a simpler and gentler way.
  • Minimal downtime: since this is a minimally invasive procedure, it does not warrant extended hospital stays or lengthy recovery periods. You can return to your regular activities almost immediately.
  • Not permanent: the effects of temple filler are long-lasting (up to several years, in some cases) but not permanent, so you can restore your previous appearance if you are not satisfied.

How is the temple filler treatment performed?

In the sections below, we will explain how temple filler treatment is conducted, covering the pre-procedure stage, the procedure itself, and aftercare recommendations.

Before the procedure

Before your treatment, you will have a consultation with one of our specialists. This is your chance to ask questions, air any concerns, and learn more about the procedure and its benefits. You can also explain your objectives at this stage, allowing your specialist to determine the most appropriate plan of action to help you achieve your desired result.

Before the procedure, your doctor will ask about your medical history, allergies, and any medications you are currently taking. They will help you determine what you need to do in the days leading up to and on the day of treatment, which may include abstaining from certain medications, such as blood thinners.

During the procedure

On the day of your treatment, your doctor will first clean the temple area and designate the injection points. They may apply a topical numbing cream to ease any discomfort, or an ice pack or spray-on pain reducer.

Then, with the site numbed, they will begin the procedure, injecting the dermal filler into the temples. You may feel a slight pinch as the needle enters, but the process is largely painless and quick, typically lasting under half an hour.

Temple filler aftercare

Post-procedure, you may notice some results immediately, but you will need to wait a couple of days or even several weeks for the full results to become apparent.

Fortunately, since this is a low-risk and minimally invasive procedure, you will not have to stay at the clinic and can usually return to your routine right away. However, depending on your health and lifestyle, you might prefer to take one to two days of rest before starting work.

Additionally, use ice packs and painkillers to manage any swelling or discomfort in the immediate aftermath. Try to avoid touching your temples, and sleep on your back rather than your side for the first few nights. Your provider may also demonstrate a massage technique to help the filler spread evenly.

FAQ

How much does temple filler cost?

We offer this treatment at ÂŁ720, with VAT included.

Is temple filler dangerous?

When carried out by trained, experienced specialists, the risks are low. However, as with any procedure of this kind, the temple filler treatment is not entirely risk-free. Patients should be aware of possible complications, no matter how small, before commencing treatment.

What are the risks and side effects?

Possible side effects include redness, swelling, bruising, itching, sensitivity, and soreness in the area where the injection was administered. Rarer effects also include infection, filler leakage, filler migration, growths, visual problems, and necrosis. The most considerable risk is if the filler is inadvertently injected into one of the many blood vessels in the temple area, which could block the vessel and lead to various complications. However, the procedure is designed to avoid these blood vessels.
